{"id":641,"date":"2024-10-04T20:39:38","date_gmt":"2024-10-05T03:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whaletowncommunityclub.ca\/?p=641"},"modified":"2024-10-04T20:39:38","modified_gmt":"2024-10-05T03:39:38","slug":"were-hiring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whaletowncommunityclub.ca\/?p=641","title":{"rendered":"We&#8217;re Hiring!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><u>The Whaletown Community Club is Hiring!<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are excited to have secured funding for a part time admin and bookkeeping person.&nbsp;&nbsp;Could be 8 hrs\/week if you are able to do both admin and bookkeeping; or 4 hrs\/week for an admin person and 4 hours\/week for a bookkeeping person.&nbsp;&nbsp;Work from home with some meetings at the Gorge Hall or elsewhere, generally in Whaletown.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>The job is:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admin:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; creating filing system for online and paper documents<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; internal board administrative support<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; some community outreach; liaison with public (receiving and vetting emails, etc)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; sourcing grants<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; writing grants<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; fundraising campaigns<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\/or&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bookkeeping:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; bookkeeping<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;develop a file management system<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Internal board support around financial stuff<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Ideal Qualifications<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bookkeeper 4 hrs\/week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>familiar with Quickbooks and bookkeeping<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has a passion for making things organized, creating systems, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has the time consistently (4 hrs\/week, maybe more in the first few weeks if you\u2019re available)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can start right away (or soon)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can commit to this for a year, preferably two (e.g. isn\u2019t about to move, or only available in the winter). But hey, it\u2019s only 4 hours\/week!\u00a0\u00a0Doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t travel, you just have to be able to work remotely if you\u2019re away for a long stretch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Administrator 4 hrs\/week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>loves organizing and putting things in order (paperwork, files, emails)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loves creating systems\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiar with google docs, excel or google sheets or whichever,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ideal: familiar with non-profits etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interested in (and ideal if you have experience with) finding and applying for grants and other funding sources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loves Whaletown \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Administrator + Bookkeeper &#8211; 8 hrs\/week<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>has all of the above or most of them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NOTE:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you\u2019re not sure if you have all the qualifications but are keen to learn them, get in touch, let&#8217;s talk!\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>accommodations are available for candidates with disabilities during any stage of the application process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Pay:- $27\/hr for the first year (just over 10K for the year at 8 hrs\/wk); bumps up to $28\/hr second year if extended.
